The Ugly Christmas Sweater via Modern Day
The most treasured tradition of a holiday party...the ugly sweater. Obviously, the first few pictures above are now the modern day version- Fair Isle sweaters. All for those weekend getaways to ski resorts or curling up by a fire. We've come a long way since the 60s, 70s, and 80s versions-as seen in the last picture-but do you think our children will be asking us for these new updated versions? They were all over the runways of Dolce & Gabbana and Michael Kors. Some of them are super cute and look truly comfy. Even Who What Wear posted an article on where to purchase the better fitted and attractive sweaters (http://www.whowhatwear.com/website/slideshow-story/fair-isle//). However, when it comes time for an actual Ugly Sweater party, skip the trendy, modern update and go for the gold. Go for the original "beautifully" granny knit sweaters of decades past.
