I'm Back!

Oh hello there. Did you miss me? Who are we kidding? Of COURSE you missed me! 

Well after a bit of a staycation with friends and the first week at the new job, I have neglected my duties as leader of the Lily - Yes, I just said that. I will share with you my photo diary of my adventures during these two weeks while I was MIA from all of your lives.

I highly recommend taking the East River Ferry just for giggles, next time you are headed to or from Brooklyn. For $4, it is a short moment of feeling as if you could be on your own personal yacht looking for adventure. On a beautiful day, it's nice to get out on the water.

A few mornings a week, you can find me strolling through Central Park to get a bit of fresh air and inspiration on the way to the office. It is absolutely beautiful - and quite quiet - first thing in the morning. Before the majority of tourists come about, there are only joggers, cyclists, and men and their best friends (dogs, on dogs, on dogs). Who needs coffee when you have fresh air? Just kidding, it is lovely to walk to work but to kick it into high gear for the entire day, I need a strong cup of Joe or Giuseppe - depending on my mood.

My inspiration for a Fall outfit has come from Madewell. Love mixing feminine and masculine pieces together. I will certainly be rocking something similar to this very soon. Cheers to flannel and Fall!



Well now, Ciao Italia! This weekend, I welcomed my first pair of designer heels into my home. Of course, in true fashion, these ladies are from the local consignment shop a few blocks from my apartment. I couldn't be more thrilled! Watch out Elvis, these blue suede shoes will give yours a run for your money! God bless the KING!

With a new season and Spring '15 FW just about over, there's nothing left to do but shop ;)  It was only natural that on the first day of Fall yesterday, I celebrated with a nice glass of prosecco and clean out my closet and dresser - Bradshaw style! Although, it was more 21st Century Bradshaw in which my roommate proceeded to laugh at me for being OCD and completing too aggressive of a chore for a Monday night.

Usually on Mondays, we find ourselves dragging, tired from the weekend. Rarely do you see someone barge in bright and early to your office ready to tackle the world. As I flipped through the pages of Marie Claire's September Issue - for writing inspiration of course - I came across the Pantene advertisement, #shinestrong, adjacent to their style guide on how to dress like a boss lady. I absolutely LOVE this ad - and the adjacent edit! It's so true for any girl, woman, or child wanting to kick butt and take names. Immediately, it sent me into a tizzy and woke me the heck up. Time to put the crown back on and get things moving and grooving - you're week has officially commenced!

So Much Room For Activities

As a newb in the Big Apple, I have numerous adventures on my bucket list. So what if I act like a tourist? I've been checking activities off left and right...what have you done lately?

Fortunately - both activities I share with you today are in the same location, different day.

Mondays - HBO Film Festival. Had a blast watching The Karate Kid, eating popcorn and thanks to my BFF, stale cookies from Uruguay - thanks girl. Time is running out for this activity though, as believe it or not, summer is almost over - gasp!

Tuesday Mornings & Thursday Evenings - Yoga baby! Attempt to be flexible and watch New Yorkers find their center in their suits. I kid you not, I watched a man a few rows ahead of me form into a pretzel in his suit and tie. I'm not even mad...I'm impressed. There's plenty of time for Yoga as it's offered through September.

After a road trip to Montauk and my first EDM concert i'm in need of a great night sleep. Definitely feeling the casual attire vibe from Le Fashion and We Wore What. Man - i'd love a pair of overalls right now.

The top photo is a picture from the Glastonbury festival in England. Definitely on the bucket list of life's adventures. Although the concert wasn't as epic as this festival, it was worth doing for a one time shot. Happy to catch a little Clockwork and Bingo Players last night. Dancing on a beach with the view of the Empire and fireworks in the distance isn't too shabby a way to close a weekend.

Night At The Ballet

Believe it or not, I once took ballet and as much as I loved being a "baby duck" or "lady bug" I was never cut out for the elegant dance. I've always loved watching ballet to see the beautiful costumes and am fascinated by the flexibility and strength these dancers have.

Finally, last night I went to Lincoln Center to see The American Ballet perform Swan Lake with my mother dearest. It was absolutely beautiful and I would recommend that everyone A- visit and see a performance at Lincoln Center and B- definitely take in Swan Lake. It is a story we all know whether we've seen the performance or not - perhaps if only for seeing the movie Black Swan?

My second year at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic at Liberty State Park and I did things right. After getting my feet wet last year and taking it all in, I learned quickly the must-haves and dos prior to the event.

A- definitely worth purchasing at least one of the First Ferry Tickets. Although these tickets are double the cost of General Admission, it is worth having someone get over to the park and grabbing a prime spot to set your picnic right in front of the polo pitch.

B- pack snacks and water! I had a lovely selection of fruits for champagne, meats, cheeses and crackers.

C- blankets are essential but chairs and a mini table are just awesome. I didn't bring a set this year but wouldn't be opposed to having one next year.

D- comfy shoes are a necessity as you literally walk 20 minutes. I tell you no lie. Plus after a day of drinking champagne who knows where your liquid courage will take you afterwards.

Having Museum Mile in my backyard - so to speak - I decided to start taking advantage. Others come from miles away to visit the museums of this city and I better start checking them out myself. Today was the Museum Mile Festival and I certainly enjoyed the street music and free admission. Although, most of The Met was blocked off except for the main floor. It gave a good tease as to what lies beyond the velvet ropes.

One of my favorite parts within the recently dubbed Anna Wintour Costume Center, were the quotes imprinted on the glass within the displays. My favorite (pictured above) - Forget all you know & learn something every day - Charles James.
